Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

Shavua Tov Nachshonim Families,

The Nachshonim have really been enjoying their Purim exploration, at any given time passing by our classroom you may here a Purim song, a book about Haman, Queen Esther, Uncle Mordecai, and King Hashvehosh, or the yeladium retelling the story themselves. We have heard, “ bow down to me”, “ we Jewish we don’t do that”, “you must leave, you're not nice to the Jewish people”.

On Monday we joined Nevonim for Havdalah where Noam and Judah were the helpers.

Tuesday we explored Purim symbols such as masks, pictures of Hamantaschen/oznei-haman , groggers and felt characters.

Wednesday we had a special guest .Itamar’s ima come in during snack and read two books in Hebrew for us.
Thursday we got to use grogers as Mira told the story of Ester, and each time we heard the name of Haman we all shook our graggers and said “BOO”.

Friday we all got ready for our Shabbat practice by making our challah, decorating our bags, and hearing Shabbat stories before we went into the Sanctuary.

In the yard this week we all helped make a river in the sandbox, we used shovels to dig the river and that poured water and watched the water flow down the river.

This week we will be finishing our groggers, and baking  Hamentashen. We will also have a parade in our costumes. More information to come.

After talking with the yelidium we noticed that they are all very interested in Music, instruments, dancing and singing. After Purim we will be exploring all the above so if you play an instrument, love to sing, dance or read a book let us know we would love to have you come in and share with the classroom.

Miri and Jennaba
