Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

HaShavuah -Nachshonim

11 February 2018
26th of Sh'vat, 5778

Shavua Tov Nachshonim Families,

We continued on Monday with our exploration of construction, the yeladium helped cut out a garage from the cardboard boxes we had in the room, they hammered, drilled, and sawed all around the classroom what we heard, “ you can drill here “, “ the chair is broken we need to hammer it”, “ I going to saw the box and fix it” and “can I help you, you need to hammer right here” great teamwork.

We also had Havdalah with Nevonim. Eitan and Matan were two of the helpers this week.

On Tuesday the class got to experience once again measuring, pouring and mixing when we made new yellow playdough. At snack time we had a picnic out in the courtyard we all enjoyed purple sweet potatoes and cucumbers/m'laf'fon . hTey all thought it was a funny word to say. During snack Aliza, Alex’s mother came out and read us a book, Mouse Paint which is one of the Nachshonim’s  favorite.

Today we played with the yellow playdough we made yesterday and the yeladium brought over the construction tools to explore with.

It's Thursday and we are back to measuring and mixing with so many new experiences with our building and fixing things we made “sand Cement” which is just like real cement using cookie cutters we had all kinds of molds, some rolled it, others smashed it, what we heard, “this feels bumpy”, “ my fingers are dirty”, “it’s cold”, “can we take it outside?”

Shalom,
Miri and Jennaba
