Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

Hashavuah - Nachshonim

Shalom Nachshonim Families,

Baruch Ha'ba/Welcome to Miri! Miri's spent her first week at in the kitah and it has been really great to get to know her. I am going to miss your children a lot! They are delightful human beings! I am looking forward to staying connected with occasional visits, I'll bring my ukulele. Also, Jennaba and Miri know to make arrangements to come visit me and explore at the community garden.
We have a lot to share. Here are the highlights of our week.
Channukah is right around the corner and we began talking about this chag/holiday.

- We noticed that there is a candle in a candle holder on the windowsill. It’s been there all year long. We put it on the table and lit the candle at snack time. We found a box of Chanukkah candles in the kitchen and we started talking about the upcoming chag of Hanukkah.
- We talked about fire safety with a lit candle.
-We had a fire drill. We know what to do to be safe in an emergency.
- Learning about all the objects associated with Chanukah. Miri shared Chanukkah felt stories and activities with us at circle time.
-Singing and listening to Channukah songs
– Dreidels! Spinning them, pressing them into play dough, pretending to be one, singing about them!
- Channukiot and nerot/candles to play with in the dramatic play corner

- water play with containers and water wheels out in the play yard.

- Geoboards and rubber bands

- playing with our Duplo lego train. Loading it with lego animals.

- we picked a couple avocados from the tree with Ofra‘s fruit picker. If it ripens, we will know that the tree is ready for us to pick more fruit.
Shavuah Tov,
Ofra, Jennaba and Miri
