Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

HaShavuah - Nevonim

Shalom families,

This week we had a fascinating time with the firefighters who came to visit the school. We got to see their special gear- oxygen masks, special clothes, the works! The fire fighters may seem a little scary, like a monster, when they have all their protective gear on, but we learned that if there is a fire we need to run TOWARDS them, and not FROM them... Later, we got to climb onto the fire truck, touch the ladder and check out all the equipment in the hidden compartments.

We also practiced stop, drop and roll, and had a fire drill. Now we all know what to do in case of emergency.

We brought the balancing beams and a wooden ladder (which we might utilise next week as "The Ladder of Jacob"), and we make obstacle courses inside and outside. Sometimes we are fire fighters saving people or cats from trees, and sometimes the floor is lava and we have to keep safe, or in other cases, we turn into lava monsters that crawl around.

We brought some CD books- Gobble it up, Pete the cat and his brand new shoes, Dragon on the doorstep.

We played with ooblek. The kids helped mix the ingredients and added some color. It seems like some of our dads also enjoyed the activity (and it's all documented!!!)

We brought some new wooden puzzles, and a magnetic puzzle. We discovered that we can use the Magna Tile pieces to move the magnetic puzzle pieces

Shavoua Tov!
