Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

HaShavu 'a' im - Nachshonim

Shalom Nachshonim Families.,

We are happy to share with you some of fun things we did and learned in the last two weeks.

Mazal Tov to Noam!  A couple weeks ago, we celebrated Noam's birthday with the special birthday snack. He is now 3!

Rosh Hashanah
-We have been reading Rosh Hashanah books. "Apples and Honey", "From Flower to Honey", "The Shofar Calls".
- We enjoyed dipping tapuchim/apples in d'vash/honey at snacktime on Monday.
-  We have been singing Rosh Hashanah songs. "Tapuchim U'Dvash", "Here is the Beehive", "Way Up High in the Apple Tree", "Happy Birthday to the World".
- We have two bee hand puppets, we are learning from our book how they collect nectar from flowers. We looked at a real honeycomb and we observed a real bee with magnifying glasses.
-  We tasted three different kinds of apples. Red apples, yellow apples and green apples

-We worked together and painted large communal painting, it's now hanging on the wall
-The children have been helping us hang some of their personal art on the wall.
-We have been playing with play dough
-We enjoyed the visit from Rafi and his Ima/mom Brenda. Rafi will be joining us in the kitah/classroom at the end of the month.
-We had a very special visit from Menachem. He brought his guitar and sang with us
We had our first visit from Melita, our music specialist. She brought her guitar and also sang with us
-Lots of water play in the yard
-We played with soft pom-poms and metal serving grabbers. The same grabbers we used to serve snack, we are practicing
-We baked challah for Shabbat

We look forward to seeing your children tomorrow!

Shanah Tovah U'metukah.
We hope you all have pleasant and sweet new year!

Ofra and Jennaba
