Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

Hashavuah - Nevonim

Back to the Earth for Tu B'Shvat ....

Nevatim/sprouts! We soaked and sprouted alfalfa, sunflower, and lentil seeds in a jar. They grow fast, and taste delicious. Some we ate and some we will plant in soil.

We celebrated Tu B'Shvat with a Seder on our deck, enjoying some of the Shiv'at haMinim/7 Species of the Land of Israel, and some local produce like citrus and avocado.

Worm composting is back! After a hiatus, we got our worm bin up and running will all kinds of bedding and 1 pound of red wigglers. How exciting to see them tunnel. We feed them our scraps and will use the castings in our garden. Our new earthworm friends are called shilshulim in Hebrew.

The children expressed their best wishes to Asher in a card. He will be moving to Santa Fe. We will miss you, Asher!
Shabbat Shalom U'Mevorach!
Judy, Ofra, and Ruth
