Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

Shalom Nachshonim Families,

Yom Ha'atzmaut activities:
-We have been talking about Yom Ha'atzmaut and discussing how it is Israel's birthday.
-We have hung some Israeli flags in the kitah and we have been discussing how some of us were born in Israel. Also how some of us have been there to visit. Some of us have friends or parents who are currently visiting right now. Including Anna!
-We have made paintings with blue and white paint, the colors of the Israeli flag.
- We read books about Yom Ha'atzmaut and Israel.

-While Anna was still out and traveling in Israel, we had enjoyed Judith's company in the kitah.

- Lots of painting at the easel and mixing paints from primary colors.

-The children are using new felt board materials of people and various everyday objects.

-We brought the fire station and emergency vehicle toys back into our kitah.
-we also have our firefighter hats out.

- We have been playing "the opposite game" at meal times.

-We started our drama classes with Cheryl! We meet her in the sanctuary and do all kinds of fun stuff. Including acting out a story in a book and singing songs.

-We pulled out the height chart that we made in the fall and we can compare and see how much the children have grown over the school year.
- We are playing with measuring tapes.

- On Tuesday we went on a spontaneous field trip to Berkeley Way Mini Park with our four Nachshonim in attendance that day.

We are enjoying the opportunity to connect with all of you today at conferences. We will have more to share with soon.

Shavuah Tov,
Ofra and Anna
