Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

Tikkun Olam opportunity for our families

Thanks to Deb Fink at Tehiyah for sharing this information with us.
For folks who live near North Berkeley BART:

I recently signed up to be a Neighborhood Food Donor and want to spread the word about this great project.  It's an opportunity to engage in meaningful tikkun olam (repairing the world) that impacts the local community in an on-going way.  Better yet, it's super convenient and easy to involve children!

Go to: to read about the Berkeley Neighborhood Food Project.  They bring you a bag once every two months, you fill it up with items from their grocery list, and they pick it up from your porch.  It is then distributed by the food pantry housed by Friends Church at Sacramento and Cedar. They supply food 3 times per week to hungry families and elders in Berkeley/Albany.

You can sign up online and/or contact the Neighborhood Coordinator if you have questions: Judy Grether at
