Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

HaShavuah - Nachshonim

Hashavuah she'avar/last week

Shalom Nachshonim families,
Last week we had a short week, but still plenty to share with all of you.

- We have a new student in our kitah. Our new friend Itamar moved to berkeley from Israel and we are happy to have him.

- We had Havdallah with Malka and the Nevonim in the sanctuary.

- More song books! Including "I've Been Working on the Railroad", "If You're Happy and you Know It" and "Over in the Meadow". And 10 Shirim Rishonim is still a big hit.

- We now have a sign-in process for the children as well the adults. The children can find their photograph on the board with their name and move it from baba'it (at home) to bakitah (in the kitah).
- We have been using our "do" and "done" cups. They are attached together with tape and in them we keep craft sticks with names written on them. This helps us know who's turn it is to feed the guinea pigs.
- Both of these two things are helping the children with literacy skills of recognizing their own name as wells their friend's.

Another week has begun and we are looking forward to telling you all about it at the end of the week.
We hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving weekend.
Ofra and Anna.
