Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

HaShavuah - Nachshonim

Hashavuah she'avar (last week)
October 18. 2012
2 Cheshvan, 5773

Shalom Nachshonim Families,

We did not have a chance to send out Hashavuah to you at the end of last week, but it is never too late.

Last week was quite short because of Simchat Torah at the beginning of the week. Here are the highlights of what happened in the kitah last week.

-On Wednesday, we baked sweet potatoes that Tobie gifted us. We sliced them, brushed on olive oil and added salt. We ate them at snack time.

- We changed the guinea pigs' bedding and the children helped with the process. We also fed them some carrot tops that Tobie shared with us.

-We played in the yard with a small group of Nevonim children.

- We did some gluing and collaging.

- We noticed many leaves out the play yard that have fallen from the trees. We started a discussion about Autumn and how the leaves chance colors and fall off the trees during this time of year.

- We have been using lots of Hebrew in the kitah. By communicating and through song.

- We have been enjoying our toy guitar and toy ukulele.

-The children sang and danced along as Ofra played music on her ukulele.

-We had a delightful visit from Nora the librarian. She sang some songs with us and read us some great books.

-On Friday, we made challah as usual and enjoyed our pretend Shabbat with all of the kids at Netivot Shalom Preschool.

You will hear from us again tomorrow, we will keep you posted on all the interesting things we have been up to this week.

L'hitraot/see you soon
Ofra and Anna
