Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

Shalom Preschool Families,

Yet another week of learning, exploring and fun.

Here are the highlights of our week here in the kitah.

- We continue our explorations of food.
-We have some great food related books currently in our library. These
include books like "Bim and Bom", a story about Shabbat, mitzvot and
baking challah, the very singable "Jamberry," "Bread, Bread, Bread,"
with pictures of different kinds of bread from around the world, "Peanut
Butter and Jelly," with clapping and hand motions, Dr. Seuss' "Ten
Apples up on Top," and perennial favorite "I'm the Biggest Thing in the
Ocean."
-We also rad "Growing Vegetable Soup" at circle time and talked about
the different kinds of plants we can eat and what they need to grow. We
will expand on this next week.
- We also read Tomie DePaola's "Pancakes for Breakfast" and then make
pancakes which we ate for snack.
-We are remembering all the brachot for different kinds of food. This
week we have focused on "Sheya Kol Niyei B"dvaro" which is recited for
milk, yogurt, cheese, and water, among other things.
-We also read a new PJ library book, "The Wisdom Bird," about King
Solomon's wisdom and kindness.
-We followed up our visit to Helios Corner with a visit from Gary who we
met there last week. We played catch with him and he read books to us.
-We also read books about visiting "old folks homes" like the classic
"Wilfrid Gordon Macdonald Partridge and the PJ library book "Say Hello
Lily."
-On Tuesday we worked on our large communal painting from last week,
adding collage materials.
-We had a visit from Melita on Monday and we sang together.
-Sarah came and did Yoga with us focusing on animal poses and Aleph-Bet
Yoga.
-We have a new soccer goal and a shiny new ball. We played lots of
soccer this week.
-We also played with blocks and legos, creating towns and palaces.
-There has also been a lot of crowns created in our kitah this week. We
will build on this next week.

More excitement to come next week!
Shabbat Shalom,
William and Ruth
