Congregation Netivot Shalom Preschool seeks to create a stimulating and enriching educational environment for each and every child.
We are devoted to helping children learn socialization skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.
In addition, we seek to ignite a spark in each child to lay claim to her or his Jewish heritage and commit him or her to a lifetime passion for learning.

HaShavuah - Nachshohim

Hashavuah She'avar (last week)

Shalom Nachshonim Families,
We did not have a chance to fill you in on last weeks activities in the
kitah. Here are some of the things that took place last week.

- On Monday, we mixed paints from primary colors.
- Our easel was in use a lot tlast week.
- On Thursday we made art on small pieces of paper.

- Havdallah with Malka on Monday!

-We had the guinnea pigs in our kitah for a couple of days last week and
we fed them and held them.

- Some very elaborate group block projections have emerged in the kitah
this week. For example, the children were using blocks to stack and
configure on the floor. Then some children began placing our wooden farm
animals on the top parts of their block structure.

-Some children were playing a game of "getting married". We took some
time at circle time to ask Anna some questions about her wedding. We
discovered that Anna and her guests went for a swim after the ceremony.

- Upon request of one of the children, we had another large cardboard
box for playing.

- We practiced singing Menachem's song "Mode Ani". Last Wednesday,
Menachem and a couple of his friends came to the Nevonim kitah and set
up microphones to record the voices of the children. The children were
pretty interested in the process and the participation.

- Out in the play yard, we checked up on our worms to make sure
everything was going well for them. We also fed them lots of banana
peels last week.

-A topic of discussion that is ever present, but was discussed a few
times last week was thinking about what kinds of words might hurt
peoples feelings and listening to other children when they don't like
the way someone else is playing.

We hope everyone has a pleasant week
Ofra and Anna
